ELITCHES TRIP SUPER MUCH FUN!!!
As expected, the Sr. Highers and adults who attended the June
10 day at Elitches had a really great time. No one puked on any
rides (though Gene had a pretty close call) and no roller
coasters got stuck in mid-ride (Kristen’s greatest fear). The
youth who went were: Lauren Abromski and her friend Ally,
Jacy Neuhaus and her friend Becca, Ethan Ritzen and his friend
Josh, Jaryd Tiff, and Amy and Sarah Loberg. Check out the
pictures on the youth photo bulletin board in the hall by the
Youth Room.
THANKS FOR THE MUSCLES!!!
We have begun rearranging a couple of the rooms in the church
building to accommodate our growing staff. This past week the
orange room was emptied of youth stuff to be ready for the
incoming choir stuff. BIG BICEP THANKS go to Caleb Payne,
Barb Payne, Pastor Mark, and Rob, JR, and Maddie Baltrum
for their time, energy, and muscles!
MOOSE OF A TIME HAD AT FAMILY CAMP
Six families (Bumps, Britts, Z/S Petersons, Herbsts, Wises, and Baltrums) had a
spectacular day hanging out at Sky Ranch on July 14. We drove up the mountain
amazed at the beauty, played games, enjoyed a hike to the water falls, relaxed on the
porch, and had a campfire in the evening. The next morning we downed the breakfast
of a lifetime (amazing breakfast burritos) before heading back down onto the flat
lands. Be sure to check out the pictures – including pix of the MOOSE that hung out
around our cabins! – in the Narthex.

CONFIRMATION CAMP is COMING!!!
Seven of our youth will be headed up the mountain on July 27 for
the SEEKERS Confirmation Camp. Please keep Michaela Goecke,
Lindsey Loberg, Megan Loberg, Abigail Thornburg, Justin Dirkes,
Vincent Byrne, and Danielle Drieth in your prayers. They will be
up there for an entire week of learning, worship, outdoor activity,
and of course moose sighting! If you would like to send them
some mail, send it to “Name of camper”-Seekers Camp, Lutheran
Ranches of the Rockies, 805 South Shields, Fort Collins, CO
80521.
MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP: All things
camp in 2 hours.
Not going to confirmation camp this time around? No worries!
Come on over to BLC from 4-6 PM on Sunday July 27. We will do a
little bit of all the stuff they do at camp, including: low ropes, a
nifty craft, songs, a “hike,” and of course S’MORES!!! Bring a
friend if you’d like!
HELP NEEDED AT VBS!!!
Like kids? Love VBS? Excited to hang out with the camp
counselors from Sky Ranch? Guess what? They like you too! And
they need your help! The counselors like to have one helper each
when then come to BLC to do the VBS Day Camp. So that means
we need a total of three or four young people to help! You’d be
here at BLC from 9:00-3:00 M-Th, July 14-17 and 9:00-12:00 on
Friday the 18th. If you can only commit to half a day that is fine,
or if you can only do 2 days out of the week that is fine too---the
counselors are very flexible and easy to work with. The more help
we have the better! As far as what you will be doing it will vary---
helping get snack, a lot of help with the craft time, and most
importantly, you will be hanging out with little kids showing them
how cool it is to love and serve Jesus!!! Contact Dawn Reed at the
church office to sign up!

MADAGASCAR COMES TO LRR
(Sky Ranch and Sleepy Owl Camp)
Partners from our companion sister synod in Madagascar will be visiting the Rocky
Mountain Synod in August and we have planned a special
retreat just for high school youth and their leaders. This will be a fun and
educational week-end centered on community building and learning about our
Malagasy brothers and sisters and their amazing faith.
Leaders will include our special guest Mme Holiharifetra Rakotondramiadana - We
call her "Holi"! (pronouced hoo-li), Malagasy exchange counselors, Sky Ranch staff
with Madagascar experiences, and Northern Colorado Youth Ministry leaders.
We will focus not only on building community locally, but also on
understanding our role and place in our global community as we "accompany"
one another in our shared faith and ministry.
Cost for meals and camping Friday evening through Sunday breakfast and worship is
a bargain at $38 per person!
To register contact Kristen Baltrum no later than July 15!!!.
