The WISP group is social in nature -- joining with other followers of Christ to enjoy fellowship. Bethlehem has approximately 45 widows who are all automatically members of the group if they wish the support of their piers. We have attendance of as few as five to as many as 17 depending on the need of individuals on any given day. We fill a need for each other on lonely Sunday afternoons where we enjoy a fellowship of positive support of women who have common understanding of unique circumstances. Guests are always welcome. Absolutely the only rules we have is to be a positive reinforcement of each other and to have fun.
We meet once a month on the third Sunday afternoon from 2 -5 p.m. usually in the Fireside Room at church, unless our hostesses decide to do something different which requires a different day, time or place. We take turns by twos being hostesses. Hostesses plan whatever they wish to do and let the rest know what, when & how.
The following is a list of some of the good times we have had together:
- White Elephant Bingo
- Boulder Dinner Theater
- Jester’s Dinner Theater
- Attend Bethlehem Concerts or events as a group–possibly go out for dinner or coffee.
- Out to eat at Perkins Restaurant as a group.
- Dinner at Estes Park and a drive to see the Fall Colors on the Peak-to-Peak Highway.
- Planning meetings with snacks.
- Potluck picnic at a members home.
- Pot Luck & story telling.
- Discussion groups.
- Getting to know each other and finding common interests to pursue.
All Bethlehem Widows are welcome to join us. Call Jan Geiser @ 303-776-2452 for information.
