Bethlehem has a long tradition of enhancing the worship services with a variety of musical settings. There are
several opportunities to share your love of music with others.
Bethlehem Gospel Singers - a group of seven singers that leads worship with liturgy music, hymns and worship songs in various gospel styles. Their voices blend and harmonize to function like a small choir. The group's instrumentation includes guitar, piano, and bass.
Bluegrass Group - this group leads worship the second Sunday of each month. The liturgy music on those Sundays is in bluegrass style, and was written especially for Bethlehem. Instruments include banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and upright bass. The group includes members of Bethlehem as well as musicians from elsewhere.
Rejoice Group - this group does instrumental versions of hymns and worship songs during certain worship services. The instrumentation currently consists of two alto saxophones, guitar, piano, and bass.
Handbell Choir - performs music written for handbells during some services. They also enhance other instruments for the "Now the Feast" liturgy, written by the Christian composer Marty Haugen. Guitar and piano are included in this setting, and occasionally flute.
Handbell choir is starting up regular practice again!
