Summer Educational Opportunities

Just as a reminder, beginning June 6 we will have learning opportunities each Sunday through the end of August for households and adults along with our regular summer coffee time. On the first and third Sundays, as part of Household Ministry, there will be a short devotional activity provided that may be done during the coffee hour or taken home to do at your own convenience. On the second and fourth Sundays there will be an adult Bible study, Being the Body of Christ: Studies in First Corinthians, and there will be outdoor games and activities for children aged pre-school through eighth grade led by our high school youth.

Summary of Summer Education/Worship Events for Kids, Adults and Households

Our Sunday morning schedule of events for the summer:

Summer Adult Forums

We started another “Book of Faith” Bible study this summer. We have been looking at First Corinthians with “Being the Body of Christ.” We didn’t meet in July, because of other Sunday events (New Orleans  Mission trip update, Dr. Lose, the church picnic). We plan to finish the course in August.
  • August 8: “How does the gift of love shape the body of Christ?” I Cor. 13: 1-13
  • August 22: “Are we giving what we are given?” I Cor. 15:1-11
If you weren’t able to join us in June, we invite you to these August sessions. Each session is  self-contained. Please join us as we talk about being the body of Christ.

Calling all Sunday School teachers

The time is once again upon us to begin filling the teacher positions for the 2010-2011 year! Please prayerfully consider serving in this way. We are especially in need of adults who can work with our middle-school-aged youth. Our children and youth are in need of dedicated individuals who can give their time and their gift of teaching for this upcoming year. As we baptize all of these children, we as a congregation make a promise to walk alongside of these children to help them learn of the Lord. Teaching Sunday School is an amazing way to help fulfill this promise. Please contact Dawn if you have any questions or would like to volunteer! Looking forward…Join us Sunday, September 12, as we kick off the beginning of Sunday School for all ages! Stay tuned for future announcements in the bulletin and the September Star!
